Reusable & Common Needle Assemblies
While Vita Needle can manufacture needles with a wide variety of end, tube and hub configurations, these are some of the more commonly sold needle assemblies that we stock for quick delivery and are able to offer at economic prices. All items listed are fabricated with our standard 1170 female luer lock nickel plated brass, ANSI and ISO 594/1 and ISO 80369-7 taper only compliant hub and are either staked or soldered to 304SS tubing that complies with medical and laboratory grade ASTM-A908 specifications.
These are just a small sampling of our most frequently ordered needle assemblies. Vita Needle can offer a very wide array of additional hub connection types, including threaded options, cannula alloys and gauges, lengths, and have the capabilities to fabricate numerous point and end closure styles, as well as custom features, from slots to laser marking.
If we do not stock what you need, chances are we can manufacture if for you. If you have already determined your requirements then please use our Request a Quotation form.
Please note all products sold are non-sterile. We look forward to hearing from you!
Reusable Stainless Steel Hypodermic Needles
Medical hypodermic needles (or needle assemblies) typically consist of a machined fitting joined to a fabricated tube. Most often, the tube is stainless steel and pointed or blunt (click on cannula link for more details). The worldwide hypodermic needle fitting standard in the medical, laboratory and dispensing fields is the female Luer Lock cannula. The mating part, which provides a tight seal via a quarter-turn, quick-disconnect is the male luer lock cannula.
Vita Needle manufactures the highest quality stainless steel medical grade hypodermic needles and cannulas at competitive prices with rapid delivery. For large volume orders, automated production is used to save on costs and allows for less variation between needles. Lower volume orders call for manufacturing by hand which has slightly more variation between needles, but is quicker and more cost effective. Both methods allow manufacturing to the highest quality standards. We are FDA charter registered and comply with all FDA GMP's.
Select from our many stock sizes of hard temper, medical grade tubing (5-33 Gauge) for your cannula or use a custom tube. See our luer lock adapters page for descriptions of our standard luer lock hubs and many hypodermic needle adapters. Metal, typically plated brass, reusable Luer Lock hubs (fittings) are the cost effective choice for repetitive applications or custom sizes not covered by commodity, plastic hub disposable products. Vita Needle Company also stocks a variety of standard and pipe thread hubs often used in industrial applications.
How to specify your needle order:
- Select a tube size, using standard sizes or a custom size.
- Select your material, typically 304 Stainless Steel or 316 Stainless Steel. For more small diameter stainless steel tubing grades that we carry, refer to our stainless steel alloys.
- Select a length and point style for your cannula, along with tolerances if critical.
- Select a hub.
Probe Point Needles
Also known as pipetting or blunt needles
These labware staples are used extensively in chemistry, biology and medicine research. Pipetting needles work equally well with either manual dispensers or precision automatic volume pipettors. Hub design offer comfortable handling and easy cleaning for reuse. The hubs comply with ANSI and ISO 594/1 and ISO 80369-7 TAPER ONLY specifications and tubing is medical/laboratory grade stock meeting ASTM-A908 requirements. Domestically manufactured.

Non-Coring Needles
Also known as Deflected Tip or Huber Needles
These precision ground stainless steel needles are deflected behind the lumen so the primary bevel is approximately parallel to the needle shaft axis. The non-coring needle design helps to reduce coring upon penetration into septa, film, tissue, rubber and membranes. These familiar labware syringe needles can be used with any lab sampling equipment or dispensers using the standard Luer Lock system.
Typical applications where a non-coring needle would be used include chromatography and micro samplings. The hubs and fabrication comply with ANSI and ISO 594/1 and ISO 80369-7 TAPER ONLY specifications to ensure highest quality and universal compatibility. Tubing complies with medical and laboratory grade ASTM-A908 specifications.

Emulsifying Needles
This double female Luer Lock construction allows micro-emulsification of different viscosity compounds through pressure applied by Luer Lock syringes attached to each end. By repeatedly mixing liquids or slurries back and forth through the common needle, a consistent, uniform mixture will be obtained. The hubs comply with ANSI and ISO 594/1 and ISO 80369-7 TAPER ONLY specifications to ensure highest quality and universal compatibility. Tubing complies with medical and laboratory grade ASTM-A908 specifications. Careful handling eliminates the need for costly, superfluous reinforcement bars.
